Is it just me, or does anyone else think our new Mistress Of Truth resembles the fake female swimmer ? (Mistress Of Truth is in the top photo)
This is a picture of my paternal grandparents, Choo-Choo Papa and Mama Aggie. We called him that because he drove a train for a steel mill in Birmingham, Alabama. They lived on Avenue G in Ensley, which used to be a tidy suburb of Birmingham. Much like Birmingham itself, Ensley is now a shithole.

This picture of Mom was taken sometime in the late 1930s or early 1940s. My sister looked amazingly like this when she was about 12 or so.
The picture below with the donkey was taken on the farm that my great-granddad moved to sometime between 1900 and 1910.
My grandfather Howard, whom my sister and I called Grandaddy Joe, lived almost his whole life here. Grandaddy Joe bought out his brothers and sisters with money earned from this farm.
My mother was born here in 1928, and lived here until her mother encouraged her to see what else was out there, telling Mom that she can always return, but she should make that decision from a position of knowing what else is available.
Grandmama Joe was a wise woman.
